VIC: Letter bomb found in Melbourne
MELBOURNE, Dec 2 AAP - A letter bomb, apparently one of the more than 20 devices sent to
Australian Tax Office staff, was found in a Melbourne letterbox today.
Police said the package was white and 11cm x 11cm x 2cm - similar to letter bombs found in
Canberra overnight.
The letter was spotted in the mail box of a house in inner suburban Richmond about 1.30pm.
The woman who saw the letter among other mail delivered to her house had heard about the
Canberra Mail Centre bomb and called police.
Police said the Special Operations Group confirmed it was a letter bomb by x-raying the
package and it was later detonated.
