A CROSSING OF CULTURES VISITORS RETURN THE FAVOR.(Local)

Tania Hyatt called the trip to Spain "one of the best experiences I've ever had," but she was homesick for one thing - cows.

"I love cows. I missed seeing them out in the fields," said Hyatt, 18, who returned July 17.

Tom Fay, 15, was surprised to learn that Spaniards eat their main meal at 3 p.m. and that most people in Madrid are apartment dwellers.

Eric Carcich, 15, thought the Spanish custom of holding bullfights was "unusual," and Laura Lamberton, 16, said she thought the people often ate "strange fish."

They are among 18 Colonie Central High School students who experienced Spanish culture …
