Fed: Immunisation program still being considered, Abbott says

Federal Health Minister TONY ABBOTT says a proposed vaccination scheme against deadly
pneumococcal disease is still being considered.

A report in The Australian newspaper today suggests that a cabinet expenditure review
committee turned down a $60 million program to immunise against pneumococcal, polio and
chickenpox.

But Mr ABBOTT has told reporters in Perth that the matter is still under consideration.
