NSW; Liberals win Hornsby

SYDNEY, Feb 23 AAP - The Liberal Party declared victory in the NSW seat of Hornsbytonight after Judy Hopwood secured close to 51.5 per cent of the vote.
With the count almost complete, Mrs Hopwood had polled 17,218 of 33,457 votes afterdistribution of preferences.
Her main rival in the traditionally Liberal northern Sydney seat, Independent candidateand former Hornsby mayor John Muirhead, received 36.99 per cent, or 12,377, of the votes.
