Fed: PM challenged to back up school claims

CANBERRA, Jan 20 AAP - Angry school and parent groups have challenged Prime Minister
John Howard to back up his claim that government schools are losing numbers because they
are too politically correct.
Mr Howard was labelled an elitist, narrow-minded snob after saying that parents were
taking their children out of public schools because schools and teachers' unions were
increasingly out of step with community values.
Mr Howard told two newspapers that some schools were taking an increasingly antiseptic
